CAFE by COFINLUXE - REFORMULATION VS. VINTAGE... COMPARING THE PERFUMES, THE BOXES AND THE BOTTLES

   An year ago, I wrote my review for this incredible perfume - CAFE by COFINLUXE.

   I reviewed the vintage version from 1979.

   Recently, I found it again and I decide to get another bottle.
  Unfortunately, this time I received new and reformulated perfume. Every vintage perfume appreciator can understand what kind of disappointment is that. 
   I quickly took my vintage perfume to compare both of them.

   About the perfume:
   I immediately tested on my skin both of the versions.
 The Vintage smells rich, deep, with some warmth and comforting shade. You can feel the perfume oils there. It's so attractive and addictive. It's very close to OPIUM by YSL.
  The reformulation is same, but somehow empty, without depth, transparent, soulless, heartless... There is some little bit sharp, light green note, coming with the top notes spray. It is like chemical dupe of the natural ingredients, added in the vintage version. It smells like light version of the perfume, despite it's still EDP.
   You'll feel the difference.

   CONCLUSIONS

   Unfortunately, the reformulations are big nightmare for the true devoted perfume appreciators!
   The reformulation "campaign" is significant sign for the end of one epoch of the genuine Perfumery Art.
   Many perfumes are already reformulated - CAFE, OPIUM, CLIMAT, ESTEE, JOOP, MOSCHINO, SHALIMAR, CINEMA, POISON (and its versions), SAMSARA, VENICE, SICILY, EDEN, CHARLIE, OBSESSION, CABOCHARD,  TRESOR...

   Other are already history.

   Related with the perfume CAFE, these are just the next sad news, about another one spoiled perfume.

   It's obvious, that from now on, we will "meet" more and more reformulations.

   Before you buy CAFE, if you have possibility (except buying online), read the ingredients list on the back side of the box and test it (the perfume comes without nylon cover).

  I can't  give recommendation, because in this case, my opinion is subjective! 
    It must be your own personal decision (which version you love, which version "sits" the best way on your skin and works best with your individual body chemistry)!
