 DIAMONDS AND RUBIES by ELIZABETH TAYLOR, is another sophisticated composition of the legendary Master Perfumer Sophia Grojsman. It's launched in 1993 as limited edition, together with DIAMONDS AND SAPPHIRES and DIAMONDS AND EMERALDS.
   This Jewel Fragrance is somehow different from the other compositions.
   Let's have a look on it.

   The perfume pyramid of this scent is also rich:

TOP NOTES:

Peach, Almond Wood, Rose, Lily, Lilac

HEART NOTES:

Spices, Orchid, Heliotrope, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, 

Rose, Lily-of-the-Valley

BASE NOTES:

Vanilla, Amber, Benzoin, Musk, Sandalwood, Cedar

   The opening is very fresh splash from juicy Peach and Almond Wood, which are giving this calm sweetness, which hides the Rose's usual sharpness and warmly hugs and exposes the Lily and Lilac. Very delicious and beautiful floral opening, with calm and soft Almond Wood line.
  When the initial Top Notes level settles down, reveals very intense bunch of Spices, generously accompanied by bouquet of flowers, from which the Orchid-Ylang-Ylang-Heliotrope line, seems to be dominant. 
   In cold weather, you will feel the mostly the spices, but in warm environment - in my personal opinion, I find it very captivating and deliciously juicy and floral. It changes very drastically and plays intensely, according to the temperature and environmental conditions. 

  Yes, in generally, the heart of the perfume is very floral-juicy, too, and this juiciness is direct influence, coming from the top notes. Sometimes, I think about these diamonds perfumes as mono fragrances, because the note from the different levels of their perfume pyramids, sounds together.   As the time goes, the base notes are awakening on your skin, and reveal one by one - soft delicious Vanilla, Amber, Benzoin, Sandal, Musk.

   And somehow (maybe under consciously), this scent is associated with the red color.

   The product comes in nylon sealed paper box. The bottle has cylindrical shape, transparent colorless glass bottle, golden like cap with diamonds like decorated ring on the neck of the bottle, the name is written with dark red letters, spray, EDT, 30ml, 50ml, 100 ml, gift set also available.

   CONCLUSIONS

  This perfume is not easy to be understood. The very first initial spray of the first time usage, may seems lovely, but after one minute - is shocking impression about very heavy, too spicy, "old" kind of perfume, especially, if you test it in cold weather, as I did. It really needs time to be wear, tested in different conditions and truly understood.

  This perfume is not heavy. This perfume is velvety and rich composition from flowers, spices, raw materials, which together give as result, brilliant masterpiece. It must be used properly - right amount of sprays and conditions, in order to reveal its beauty, to be understood and appreciated correctly.

   It evokes associations with large theater hall with heavy red velvety curtains in moment, in special event evening, before new movie premiere and all ladies there are in last fashion dresses with heavy diamond (diamond-ruby and other stones) jewels. Full picture of high-class glamour and touch.
    The perfume is long-lasting.
    It's well enough to spray 2-3 max. times in the air and to go through the cloud.

    If it's possible, test before you buy.
